[Rosenfield 1934] Lactiflora: This rare, late-flowering semi-double to double flowered peony has dark, crimson red flowers with broad petals.  Plants are low-growing and compact with distinctive foliage that is thick, leathery and heavily crimped. Flowers are sweetly fragrant and carried on sturdy upright stems. An absolute treasure for the small garden.  Blooms late.
